The kite zone is approximately 1.5 miles long and with the wind usually blowing on or off shore you get the full stretch of beach to use.
The nice thing about St Andrews is that no matter what your kiting ability you are welcomed to the beach by the fellow kiters. Most weekends you can find anywhere between 2 and 52 kiters at West Sands all year round.
