taste the sea air

Whether it is cruising or day sailing the Firth of Forth has some beautiful harbours to visit.

Elie has a watersport centre where you can hire dinghies, windsurfers, go water-skiing or just blast around the bay. If your bringing your own yacht, all the harbours do drain, it is possible to tie up against the harbour wall with a fin keel but for this area a bilge keeler is the best option.

The Firth of Forth is teaming with wildlife, and what a way to see it. There are daily boat trips from Anstruther out to the Isle of May.

Go for a walk on this remarkable island, which is a important National Nature Reserve owned and run by the Scottish Natural Heritage. See the remains of a 12th century monastery and the oldest light house in Scotland, as well as incredible wildlife. You will see Seal colonies, Puffins, Guillemot, Razorbill, Cormorant, Eiderduck and thousands of Gannets heading to and from their colony on the Bass rock. If your lucky you'll see Dolphins and Whales too.
